Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble III is an Acoustic, Electro, Experimental, Classical/Avant Guarde album. The album is performed live with no overdubs or sequencing. The music definitely has an Experimental feel to it, the combination of acoustic instruments and analog synthesizers creates an odd juxtaposition of sound. The synthesizers are treated as instruments, something played along side the other instruments, giving the album a post apocalyptic feel. This music sounds like it would be played in a coffee house of the future. The neiborhood bombed out from some sort of exodus, someone pedaling a stationary bike to provide power to the synthesizers and bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling. The instruments found in abandoned apartments and self taught with ancient videos seen on a sporadically working internet. This concept isn’t new but the direction the Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble takes is deep and dark and the music isn’t grating or cacophonic but is rather an interesting merger of sound and concepts.
